Ingredients

  • Base:
  • – 1 premade pizza base or pita bread
  • Sauce:
  • – 1 sachet pizza sauce (garlic, onion and herb flavoured)
  • – 1 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • – 1 tsp garlic granules
  • – 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • Toppings:
  • – ½–¾ cup grated cheese (I use a mix of Colby and mozzarella)
  • – 2 slices prosciutto
  • – 3–4 slices salami
  • – 2 slices ham, roughly torn

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C–220°C. If you’ve got a pizza stone, pop it in now - otherwise, line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the pizza sauce, barbecue sauce, garlic granules and Italian herbs.
  3. Spread the sauce evenly over your pizza base, right to the edges.
  4. Sprinkle over a generous layer of grated cheese.
  5. Add your meats - prosciutto, salami and ham - scattered evenly across the top.
  6. Add another light sprinkle of cheese, then finish with an extra sprinkle of garlic granules, a little more Italian herbs and a drizzle of barbecue sauce.
  7. Bake for 10–15 minutes or until the cheese is melted, golden and bubbling and the base is lovely and crisp.
  8. Slice it up, serve it hot and enjoy your pizza night!

Notes

Top Tips:

Make it your own: Swap in bacon, cooked chicken or leftover roast meat for an easy twist on the classic.

Go lighter: Use wholemeal pita or wrap bases for a thinner, crispier crust.

Cheese ideas: I love a mix of mozzarella and Colby, but tasty cheese or even a sprinkle of parmesan works too.

Vegetarian version: Skip the meat and load up with mushrooms, capsicum, olives and red onion.

Kid-friendly tip: Set up a DIY pizza bar and let everyone top their own - it’s fun, hands-on and saves you time.

Freezer-friendly: You can freeze the prepped pizzas before baking - just wrap well and bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.  A great meal prep idea!
