Cheat’s McChicken Burgers

These Cheat’s McChicken Burgers are my homemade twist on a family favourite and they couldn’t be easier. With just 4 simple ingredients - brioche buns, crispy southern fried chicken fillets, crunchy cos lettuce and creamy garlic aioli, you can have golden, crispy burgers ready in under 20 minutes.

They taste just like the real deal (maybe even better!) but are fresher, cheaper and perfect for a cosy night in. Pair them with homemade chips or wedges and you’ve got yourself the ultimate at-home McDonald’s experience - happy family guaranteed.

Cheat's McChicken Burgers

Skip the drive-thru with these easy Cheat’s McChicken Burgers! A quick and delicious family-friendly dinner made with just 4 ingredients – perfect for Friday night fakeaway at home.

Ingredients

  • 4 brioche buns, halved
  • 4 southern fried chicken thigh fillet burgers (air fryer/oven ready)
  • 1 small cos lettuce, leaves washed & separated
  • 4 tbsp garlic aioli

Instructions

  1. Cook chicken thigh fillets in the air fryer at 180°C for 12-15 minutes, or follow the packet instructions for oven or air fryer cooking.
  2. Place brioche buns cut-side down in a hot pan until lightly golden.
  3. Spread garlic aioli generously over the base of each bun. Top with crispy chicken, a few cos lettuce leaves and the bun lid.
  4. Pair with homemade chips or wedges for the ultimate fakeaway dinner.

Notes

Top Tips:

  • Add cheese: A slice of tasty cheese or Swiss cheese makes it extra indulgent.
  • Spice it up: Swap garlic aioli for sriracha mayo for a little kick.
  • Healthier option: Use grilled chicken breast fillets instead of fried for a lighter version.
