Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies

Get the kids into the kitchen and whip up a batch of these timeless treats? You can’t go past the classic old fashioned chocolate chip cookies, just like the ones Nanna used to make. Crispy on the outside, chewy in the centre, and packed with gooey chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 125g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ⅓ cup caster sugar
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 ¾ cup SR Flour
  • 200g chocolate chips (any combination of white, milk, dark or caramilk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven 160ºC and line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla. This can take approximately 5 minutes. You will want a nice thick creamy consistency.
  3. Add the egg and mix until well combined.
  4. Sift the flour into the bowl. Add the chocolate chips and using a large spoon, stir until just combined.
  5. Roll a heaped teaspoon of dough into a ball. These will be about the size of a golf ball. Place on your prepared tray.
  6. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
