Ingredients

  • 1 fresh lime, cut into wedges
  • Handful of mint leaves
  • 30ml white rum (Bacardi, vodka or Malibu also work)
  • Lemonade, to serve
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices, to serve
  • Extra mint leaves, to serve

Instructions

  1. Place the lime wedges and mint leaves into a tall glass.
  2. Use a muddler or the end of a rolling pin to gently press and release the juices and mint oils.
  3. Pour in the rum and stir to combine.
  4. Fill the glass with ice cubes, extra lime slices and mint.
  5. Fill the rest of the glass with lemonade.
  6. Give it a gentle stir and enjoy!

Notes

TOP TIPS:

  • Don’t over-muddle mint: Too much muddling turns mint bitter. Light pressure is best.
  • Use fresh limes: Bottled lime juice won’t give the same brightness or aroma.
  • Swap lemonade for soda water: For a less sweet, more traditional mojito.
  • Malibu twist: Adds a tropical coconut flavour - perfect for summer.
  • Crushed ice = bar vibes: Use crushed ice for that classic mojito look and extra chill.
  • Make a mocktail: Skip the rum and add extra lemonade for a refreshing mojito mocktail.
