Easy homemade oven baked pizza dough that delivers woodfired-style flavour at home without a pizza oven. Perfect for family dinners, pizza nights and make-your-own toppings.
Ingredients
- 500g pizza flour (or 00 flour / strong bread flour)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 300ml warm water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Extra flour, for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast and salt.
- Add the olive oil to the warm water and gradually pour in the flour mixture, mixing until a sticky dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured bench and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic (or use a stand mixer with dough hook for 5-6 minutes).
- Place dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover and rest in a warm spot for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 250°C (or highest setting) with pizza stone inside for at least 1 hour.
- Punch dough down, divide into 3-4 balls and roll into smooth rounds.
- Stretch dough into 10-inch bases on baking paper.
- Add sauce, cheese and toppings (keep toppings light).
- Slide onto hot pizza stone and bake 5-10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Rest for 1-2 minutes, slice and serve hot.
