Easy 4 Ingredient Gnocchi Bake
This Easy 4 Ingredient Gnocchi Bake is everything a weeknight dinner should be - quick, comforting and completely fuss-free. With just a few simple ingredients (gnocchi, sugo, cream and cheese), you can have a bubbling, golden bake on the table in under 1 hour.
It’s the kind of recipe you’ll come back to again and again. No chopping, no fancy steps, just simple, hearty flavours everyone loves. My family loves this one and it’s especially perfect for Meat-Free Mondays or nights when you need something delicious with minimal effort.
It’s also a great one to hand over to the teens or young adults in your family - so easy they can cook it themselves (and actually enjoy doing it!).
Serve it straight from the oven with a green salad or garlic bread and watch it disappear fast.

4-Ingredient Baked Gnocchi
With just four simple ingredients, this cheesy, comforting dish is ready in 30 minutes - perfect for busy nights when you need something quick, hearty and family-approved.
Ingredients
- 2 x 400g bags fresh potato gnocchi (from the fridge section)
- 2 x 500g bottles tomato and basil sugo
- ¼ cup cream (optional, for extra richness)
- 2 cups grated cheese (mozzarella, colby or a tasty blend)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (fan-forced). Lightly grease a large 9 x 13 inch (or similar) baking dish.
- Add the gnocchi to the dish, then pour over the sugo and cream (if using). Stir gently to coat everything evenly.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly and golden and the gnocchi is soft and cooked through.
- Serve hot, straight from the oven. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread if you like.
Notes
Top Tips:
- 💚 Boost the veg – Add a few handfuls of baby spinach or chopped fresh basil before baking.
- 🐔 Add protein – For a non-vegetarian twist, stir in shredded barbecue chicken or chopped cooked bacon.
- 🧀 Cheese options – Mozzarella works best for that gooey top, but feel free to mix in cheddar, colby or parmesan.
🥶 Storage:
- Fridge: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat until piping hot or enjoy cold the next day.
- Freezer: Not ideal for freezing once baked, as the texture of gnocchi may become too soft.
