Ingredients

  • 500g chicken mince
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 6 street tacos
  • Oil for frying
  • Garlic aioli
  • 1–2 cups shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken mince with onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Divide the mince mixture into 6 even sized balls. Place a small ball of mince onto each street taco and press it down gently to flatten into a thin layer.
  3. Heat a non-stick frypan over medium-high heat. Lightly spray with oil. Place tacos chicken-side up and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden. Flip and cook the chicken-side for another 1-2 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the taco is golden.
  4. Drizzle with garlic aioli and top with shredded lettuce. Fold and devour! Serve immediately.

Notes

Top Tips:

  • Add a crunch: Top with pickles or a little slaw for extra texture.
  • Cheesy twist: Reverse the cooking order. Add sliced or grated cheese on the taco while cooking the second side.
  • Make it spiced: Add paprika or chilli flakes to the mince for a little heat.
  • Fakeaway night: Serve with fries or wedges for the full “burger night” experience.
